Built in 1994, the Collalto Storage field was enhanced in 2011; this resulted in an increase in capacity, while the original conditions of the field were fully respected. 

The Collalto field has a storage capacity of roughly 600 million cubic metres of natural gas, and it has a surface of almost 89 square kilometres. The field consists of 17 active wells, through which the gas is stored in the field or distributed from the field, at an average depth of 1,500 metres. 

The Collalto site is interconnected with the transport network owned by Snam Rete Gas and with the transport network owned by S.G.I. S.p.A.
